History of Pat Mac’s Pack

The name Pat Mac’s Pack was coined by a friend of Patrick’s family. During Patrick’s 11 year battle with brain tumors his family, friends, and neighbors would often join together as “Pat Mac’s Pack” to participate in events that raised funds for pediatric brain tumor research and Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Patrick was a selfless, fun loving child who never let the diagnosis of a brain tumor burden him or prevent him from living life to the fullest. He loved participating in these events and reveled in the attention of so many people. He always had a soft spot for sick children but never saw himself as one.

After he passed away, Patrick’s family and friends wanted to continue the fight in his honor. Therefore, in 2014 Pat Mac’s Pack, Inc. was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation with the mission of raising funds for pediatric brain tumor research and providing assistance and support to young brain tumor patients and their families.
